    Creating Tomorrow by D.E.S.I.R.E.

    pit stop

    Dear Friends,

    I admit to being an unsporty person. Not only do I avoid being involved in anything more physical than climbing a flight of stairs, I’m also not someone you’ll find yelling in the bleachers as their favorite team or athlete dazzles fans with their prowess.

    All the more surprising that - while meditating on my own personal style of coaching in order to develop a signature coaching model - the image of a Formula 1 racing course (Francorchamps-Spa?) would come to mind. The idea of a racing course seemed like the perfect symbol for (mentally and/or physically) active people, who are dedicated to achieving their personal and professional goal.

    And coaching?

    Coaching allows you to take a short break from action to review/revise/renew before you step out into action again. It’s the “pitstop” you take in the midst of your personal race, in order to check your focus, guarantee you are still on course, and tank energy (and inspiration)before heading out for the next lap.

    What goes on during your coaching “pitstop” when you work with me as your coach? That’s where Creating Tomorrow by D.E.S.I.R.E. comes into play.

    Creating Tomorrow by D.E.S.I.R.E.

    Within each session, we go through the following steps together, in order to achieve and maintain clarity about your unique purpose and the specific steps you need to take to reach your goal.

    D = Debriefing

    What specific goal are you choosing to focus on in your coaching relationship? Is this really and truly YOUR goal and not something you’ve been conditioned to achieve? What went on recently in your life that you feel helped/hindered you moving towards that goal?

    E = Evaluate

    How do you feel about how things are going? What effect have your most recent actions (successes? failures? learnings? ) had on how you feel about the journey ahead of you?

    S = Summarize

    Where do you feel you are now in relationship to your goal? Is there anything about your strategy or tactics you need to revisit? What do you feel you need to change NOW based on what you know NOW - about yourself, your goal, your purpose?

    I = Inspire

    This is where, together, we: Acknowledge your progress! Celebrate your victories! Or…lend you a shoulder to (briefly!!) lean on.

    R = Re-Activate

    What are the Next Steps you intend to take between now and the next coaching session?

    E = Energize

    This is where I as your coach remind you of the power we each have within ourselves to realize our dreams, and encourage you to consciously tap into that power as you step back into action!

    The journey towards achieving our goals and fulfilling our life’s purpose is an exciting one. I look forward to taking part of the journey with you!
