Dear Friends,
It’s been more than 10 years since I bought my first book by Tony Robbins. At the time, I had never heard the word ‘coach’ unless it applied to someone involved in sports, and I think Tony Robbins was refered to as a ‘motivational speaker’.
Now the term ‘coach’ has become de rigeur almost, and people like me have discovered that ember within themselves that leads them to connect with other people and support them as they manifest change in their lives.

Dear Friends,
I originally wanted to post a video by American motivational speaker, Les Brown, called ‘Why People Fail’.
Then I decided that - though it’s important to come to grips with failure - you should only use it as a pitstop in your life that allows you to grow, learn and reassess/redefine your goals. Because failure is not a defining moment or a symbol of the person you really are!
So, although I’m posting the link to the first video I mentioned because it does have an extremely positive message (pay attention to Les’ final sentence!!), I want to focus your attention on the first part of a video course which features Les Brown called ‘The Psychology of Success’.
Forward!
Trina

Dear Friends,
Much of what I write about deals with achievement and success. That - in the end - is what we are all striving for.
I don’t have to tell you that along with our many attempts at success come numerous failures. We’ve all been there and we all have the souvenir t-shirts (and bruised egos and feelings of embarassment) to prove it.
BUT: What do we learn from failure?
AND: How do we deal with it when it seems to be not so much a single botched incident, but more a long, dry stretch of road in your life?
I came across the following article by fellow leadership and communications trainer, Stephanie Goddard Davidson, in my own search for something to inspire me on a day that has - admittedly - not been the best for me. I’d like to share it with you in the hope that you find something concrete there that resonates with you.

Dear Friends,
If you have a look at the tabs at the top of this page, you’ll see I’ve made a few changes. No, it wasn’t only to distract your attention from the fact that I desparately need to update my training calendar (it IS September already, after all!) and upload the new recources.
After piddling around a bit, I’ve finally come to temporary peace with an updated version of my standard credential presentation. I will probably make a few more tweaks in the coming weeks, but this is the new core presentation.
I truly welcome any comments or questions you might have about both look and content!
Also: Anyone interested in the German version can access it with a click!
Trina
P.S.: Transfering the presentation to zoho.com to make it viewable here has rode roughshod with the layout in some places. The original is ok, and I’ll smooth the edges on zoho.com as time allows.

Dear Friends,
I recently came across an older article at oncoaching.com about a project Germany’s esteemed Fraunhofer Institute is working on: an eCoach to provide people with virtual coaching support via their cellphones. If, for example, you want additional motivation to stick to your personal fitness plan, you’d receive a text message in the mornings telling you what a great day it would be to get out and jog! Apparently, users have an opportunity to receive individualized messages based on the concrete project/topic they’d like to be coached on, and the program responds to the progress you make along the way.

Dear Friends,
Let’s face it, we can talk (or: write, as the case may be) about the fine-points of giving an inspiring, memorable and convincing presentation till we’re blue in the face. But there’s simply nothing like actually getting up in front of a crowd. That’s the only way you’ll ever really experience and learn what YOU need to do; what works and feels best for you, your message and your audience.
I found the following tongue-in-cheek article on some of the various no-no’s of presenting while looking for some interesting additional angles to incorporate into my own workshops.
Enjoy!
Trina
