“The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.”

Six Keys to True Entrepreneurship - Being True to Your Own Authenticity”

    October 23rd, 2008 by admin
    Key

    Dear Friends,

Last weekend I had the honor of speaking at the 2nd Awaken Women International Conference in the hills above Zurich before a group of wonderful women - and a few men, too. The atmosphere was welcoming, the weather was magnificent, and the positive vibrations ran high.

Both my presentation and my workshop were adapted from my coaching workshop, “Whose Life Is It Anyway?”, and provided a preview of an upcoming eCourse. Both deal with identifying and adapting a mindset that supports you as you define, plan and set out to achieve important professional goals you set for yourself.

The topic resonated with more than one person in the room, and I was happy to have not only touched the right chord with so many people present, but also to have provided some provocative coaching questions to get - and keep - the wheels turning in their heads and hearts once the weekend was over.

That’s why I’d like to share the six keys from the presentation in bullet point form with all of you:

Lessons in Leadership - in German

    October 15th, 2008 by admin
    German Flag

    Dear Friends,

In the meantime, I’ve lived and worked in Germany for more than 30 years. I not only conduct workshops and coaching sessions in German with ease, I also (sometimes) write in German! This includes a selection of coaching tips on leadership skills for the Eventus Akademie.

Eventus’ principle, Mirko Schneider, has developed a unique perspective on leadership development based on the paradigm of soccer. The resulting 5:3 Method delivers an experiential training program that fosters entrepreneurial thinking within an organization and increases overall motivation.

Here are just a few of the topics I’ve written coaching tips on for Eventus:

    Three Questions

    October 5th, 2008 by admin
    Friedrich Nietzsche

    Dear Friends,

I did a brief online interview as part of fellow coach Ed Batista’s “Three Questions” series. Ed, who has been a full-time leadership coach at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business in California since 2006, is also an avid blogger. A comment I left on his entry “Friedrich Nietzsche, Executive Coach” led Ed to my blog - and a brief email exchange began.

Ed was especially interested in my perspective as a coach who works biculturally, as well as how the talent I have as a presenter positively impacts my coaching style. During the course of our correspondence we also discovered that we both grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

    It’s truly a small world!

What Have They Done For YOU Lately?

    October 2nd, 2008 by admin
    Stressful Workload

    Dear Friends,

I recently wrote an article - “What Good are Exit Interviews?” - as a partial follow-up to a lively discussion that took place in one of my workshops. “Some Quit and Leave…Others Quit and Stay” is a session I created that deals with improving employee retention rates by focusing on why good people really leave in order to come up with better ways to make them want to stay.

A  reader challenged me to balance out the image of employers who don’t do enough to keep good staff by writing an article about the things that (some) companies do right already.

That’s why I’d like to invite you take the following brief and confidential online survey, and let me know about YOUR positive experiences with companies where you feel your contributions were recognized and appreciated!

    Thank you for your help!

    Trina
