On Equal Footing in a Changing World

    Dear Friends,

I am very happy to announce a new project under the banner of the Creating Tomorrow franchise: 360° of Diversity is a project that will allow me to focus more specifically on the challenges of effective diversity management within the changing demographics of Germany’s business world. Together with my cooperation partner, sociologist Lale Otyakmaz, I will be supporting corporations and organisations here in Germany as they strive to make the most intelligent usage of the vast human potential Germany has to offer.

It’s important that more and more companies realize the economic benefits of diversity, and come to realize how the right amount of - positive - friction can enliven their workforce and increase its creativity. It’s also vital that people who are familiar with these challenges on both the theoretical and the personal level become involved in supporting organization as they take this important step.

Without the right kind of support, companies that are focused on short-term success in many other aspects of their business falter when their diversity management projects seems to stagnate. To them stagnation means failure. We want to open their eyes to the fact that stagnation - as well as resistance and strife - are simply organic (and important) stages of this monumental systemic change process.

Although I may cross-reference some, from now on I will be posting diversity-related topics over at 360° of Diversity. The site is still a work-in-progress, and will certainly become both more polished and full of information and resouces as Lale and I continue to enrich its content. I do invite anyone who is interested to have a look, however, and let us know what you think!

    Trina
